About Poppi - 10 Week Old Staffy X (On Trial)
Poppi is a sweet and adorable smart pup, ready to be your forever friend, your ride or die girl. Your sidekick.
I'm Poppi and I’m looking for my forever family that will adore me. I was rescued from the pound after being abandoned. I have needed some extra care to get me strong again and am loving the family life. I’m possibly a Staffy breed, but my family tree is unknown. I sleep in my carers bedroom and enjoy morning cuddles in bed. I’m placid, sweet, curious, playful and very smart. I’m a little cautious in new situations and require reassurance, and ongoing socialisation and exposure to new things. I’m dog-friendly as I have been living with my foster carers staffy girl. We play chasies and tug of war with the rope and I love a fluffy toy. I can be timid as this life outside of the pound can be a little overwhelming and I like to feel safe. My confidence is growing every day and will continue to do so with every new experience.
I love car trips and am well behaved in the car. I don’t get car sick and enjoy your company on long trips. I love playing in water. I’m a inside dog when my parents are home, and I love to be around my humans but I love to go outside to play independently as well, I keep myself entertained with my toys and enrichment games and love to chew leaves and grass, or sticks or pegs. Whatever you leave laying around. I must have a backyard so I can run around. I happily spend the day outside when my carers are at work.
Poppi has never been left home alone for any period of time. She’s been entertained by resident dogs in foster care. If she is to be the only dog in the household, it will take a transition period - and her humans will need to provide lots of playtime and interaction to replace the on-tap stimulation previously given by her four-legged friends.
Poppi is consolidating her obedience, and knows the basic commands. She’s super smart, inquisitive and receptive to training and knows the commands “come, leave it, wait, eat your tea, on your bed”. This will need to be ongoing training as Poppi is young and learning every day. She’s toilet trained and happily takes herself outside through a doggy door. She doesn’t need to be taken out at night. In fact doesn’t like getting up in the morning at all. She’s not intrinsically jumpy, and is respectful of your space. She may get excited by small children so would be better suited to a family with children over 5 years old or experienced with dogs
