Melody

Meet little miss Melody, a headstrong and confident little pup that has been fortunate enough to spend the last few weeks in foster care.

Melody is intelligent, a fast learner and not for the faint hearted. This little pup takes on anything in life and loves to be with people. Her foster home had a very stable and patient cattle dog, and a cat who put this assertive little pup in her place. She is already fully toilet trained, knows how to sit and shake and has mastered crate training & a place command, which is a great instruction to instil during puppyhood.

Just like any other cheeky puppy, Melody loves to chew so it's important to have lots of toys, and enriching activities for her to expel her energy on. Puppies can be quick so it's best to be proactive with putting away valuables before they sniff it out and make a toys out of them.

Melody is super food motivated which is fantastic for training, and her carer describes her as vibrant and adorable. She can be cheeky and instigate a response out of the resident dog and cat by pawing and barking at them, so if there are other pets in the home, it's important they are behaviourally sound and boundaries are set for Melody from the get go. She may be a little bit too much for animals that are not overly confident.

Melody would be better suited to older kids as she is still going through her puppy phase of mouthing and jumping up, although consistent training in this area will assist greatly. As she grows exercise and continued socialisation will be critical for her positive development.
Melody is a very active young dog and will make a great companion for someone who likes intense daily exercise such as running or riding. She will do best in a home with a big backyard that she can explore and play fetch in.
