Holly is a beautiful young Kelpie x Cattle. She has had a rough start and came into the rescue extremely timid and unprepared for social life. She can still be quite tentative with men however has grown to love her foster dad choosing him above all else.
She is a very smart active pup with such a pretty smile and tail wag ready for every occasion – even when she steals your shoes she will smile before dropping to the ground for a belly rub. Which is in the top 5 of her favourite things. Only topped by cuddles on the couch, play time and water! And don’t forget her food!
She isn’t a guzzler and has come a long way from the pup who arrived with food aggression and now is more than happy to eat alongside the bigger boys being her foster brothers.
She has conquered the terrible dog door and now comes and goes as she pleases. So long as she is let out before bed and told to toilet she hasn’t been having any accidents inside and if she can’t get out has started to let us know with a small bark that she needs to get out.
Still learning to walk on lead as she is very curious and wants to investigate everything out the in the world she now has the confidence to explore. She loves making friends just not in the dog park yet as that is still quite a scary place with so many new things, dogs and people, coming towards her. It is just still a bit overwhelming so slow introductions during quiet periods is the best approach.
She loves to run so if you are an active family Holly could be your new running partner. Loves the creek and water (while still learning to swim) and some freedom on a long lead, because, beware the bush turkey chase!
Holly’s perfect home would be one that has another pup as she loves loves loves playing with dogs. Otherwise a family home a lot who can keep her active mind and body active. She is great with kids even the smaller ones as she is a lovey gentle pup but still a pup so ensuring the kids understand if they run, she will chase.
At her foster home she has a very barky dog next door who she is starting to learn some habits off which are being worked on at present and she is very easy to correct and is super apologetic so training is a breeze.
She knows to sit, wait and shake hands before her breakfast and dinner. Loves her goat’s horns and deer antlers, and especially loves a soft pear! Or a recently discovered peanut butter lick mat!

Adoption details
Adoption Process
Once you have decided you would like to meet or apply for one of our pets, we email out our Adoption Application. We ask that the Adoption Process be read and if comfortable with how we adopt, complete the application and email it back for processing. This takes approximately 5-7 days. If approved the pet will come for a 6 week trial for cats and 3 week trial for dogs . We believe it takes that long for a pet to settle. If all goes well during the trial and you wish to finalise the adoption we email all vet certificates and change of microchip forms. We believe in matching the right pet with the right home so your application does not guarantee an approval.
