Olive

Meet Olive, the adorable, scruffy and affectionate pup who is looking for her forever home! Olive is the sweetest little girl who will greet you with kisses and a waggy tail whenever you’re in sight. This girl has a lot to offer and she can’t wait to find her perfect fit.

Olive came into care quite a scared and shut down puppy, but it didn’t take long for her cheeky and playful personality to shine through. She was initially quite fearful of the big wide world and especially men, but with the guidance of her foster carers is improving drastically. She now excitedly greets people out and about and loves to get lots of pats. She can still become overwhelmed in busy or noisy places and her new owners will need to have enough dog experience to be able to help her continue this gentle introduction into the world.

Olive loves her daily walks and enjoys playing with dogs similar in size to her. Although she shows no aggression, bigger dogs still overwhelm her so any resident dogs should be of a smaller size to ensure she feels comfortable as quickly as possible in her new home. She will need continued socialisation with known friendly dogs preferably in settings like play dates or pack walks, rather than at dog parks with unknown dogs while she grows in confidence. She is friendly with kids out and about, but can find them a bit overbearing in her home, so olive will be looking for an adult only home.

Olive is a fast learner and has started her basic training. She sleeps through the night in a crate and travels really well in the car. Her leash skills are coming along well and she enjoys working with her handler. Her toilet training needs some work, but she is getting the hang of it and with proper management she will have this fine tuned in no time. Olive LOVES toys, so her new home should prepare to have a nice toy selection for her to choose from. She is building up her independence being left alone and so far is fine to be left for a few hours here and there. Due to her age and need for confidence building, she will require a home with someone home more often than not.

Olive is looking for a home that will treat her as part of the family and include her in their daily activities. She is looking for a family that is committed to gradually exposing her to new environments and situations. In return she will show you her hilariously playful and cuddly personality. We will be favouring homes with another small, confident and friendly dog in the home.
