About Chester
Chester is a 11kg, 2.5yr old Cavoodle who is ready to be adopted by a very special family!!
He came to us anxious and scared but is doing so well, we have been blown away by his progress. He would be best suited to an active family with another similar breed dog or smaller (he loves other small white dog especially) although he would also be fine as an only dog as long as he is able to be socialised with other dogs.
Chester loves children (though can be a little jumpy with excitement at first) and playing with other dogs. Other loves include swimming, walking, running, chasing balls and birds! He also loves eating, sleeping and cuddles.
Chester can be a little over excited walking on the lead but training will correct this. He is very smart and will flourish with proper obedience training.
Chester needs a family who has someone home more often than not and who will take him on outings with them and include him as part of the family. He can use a doggy door (or will sit at the back door if he wants to go out) and is crate trained. He has been fine to be left crated for up to 4 hours when we have been out during the day, but we have started to successfully leave him for periods uncrated in the house without signs of anxiety.
Chester is on medication for his separation anxiety and this has made a huge difference to his wellbeing as he has settled in his foster home. Our vet had recommended another 3 – 6 months of medication possibly up to 12 months. but that would need to be a discussion with your vet. The difference the medication made in a short time has been phenomenal and he has come ahead in leaps and bounds in every aspect.
Chester would love to find his forever family and will be a wonderful, loving and entertaining addition to any family.
Chester's left eye looks a bit odd as there is no pigment around it.
