Zuzu is a sweet, old gentle giant! He will be celebrating his 11th birthday next month and we are hoping he can spend it starting the next chapter in his life. He is the biggest Persian his foster mum has ever met at around 6 to 7kgs!

This boy is such a big lovebug and like most big animals he doesn’t care how big he is and loves to curl up on your chest for cuddles. He will take cuddles and pats at all times and show his appreciation with a little drool. He is unsure of what cat toys are and why you would want to use them with him but he’ll come running if you call his name.

As with all Persians Zuzu needs a home committed to daily (and sometimes twice daily) grooming. This includes keeping his eyes clear as they can become irritated and risk ulcers if the gunk is left to build up. He is a total sweety when it comes to being brushed and willingly lets his foster family brush him but would be most comfortable with a twice yearly clip, as he has been given in the past, to keep him comfortable. While in care we have noticed that Zuzu struggles to eat without pushing the food everywhere in his foody endeavours and he also gets a little feline acne on his chin. We have managed this so far by clipping his chin and keeping it clean and giving him a raised and angled bowl to help him navigate the food a bit better. He would likely benefit from using a ceramic bowl long term to reduce the acne.

Zuzu would make a fantastic companion to so many homes as he has happily lived with both dogs (big and small) and other cats before. What he wants most is a home with people who will show him a lot of love so he would also be happy to be offered a solo home too. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, so he would also be fine to live with respectful kids of all ages.

While in care he has had four teeth removed and will need yearly (at minimum) dental checks to ensure that his mouth is staying healthy! He happily eats his dry food but isn’t super keen on wet food at all.
