About Koda
🐾 Meet Koda - The "Wombat" with a Heart of Gold! 🐾
- Koda
- 8 years old
- English Staffordshire Terrier X
- Blue
Hi, I'm Koda, nicknamed "Wombat" for my adorable resemblance and funny noises! I'm an 8-year-old mature Blue Staffordshire Terrier with the biggest Staffy smile and a heart full of love. I've undergone intensive training, becoming calmer, obedient, and understanding my triggers, spending 80% of my day being a seasoned pro at snoozing.
On rare occasions, I get a bit intense during thunderstorms or spotting native critters, but with patience and love, I'm a happy camper!
Habits/Quirks:
- I'm vocal and expressive, letting you know when I want attention.
- I'm well-behaved on walks, especially if there's cheese involved!
- Cheese, corned beef, chicken noodles, and chicken nuggets are my absolute favorites.
- I'm gentle, love cuddles, and have a happy smile that could brighten any day.
- I'm great in a car, crate-trained, and toilet-trained.
Health and Special Needs:
- I have arthritis in my hips and one shoulder, so extended walks are needed every 2-3 days.
- I have average teeth.
- I shouldn't be left unsupervised with wildlife, be near cats, or forced to lay down due to arthritis.
- A slow supervised introduction is necessary with other dogs.
Background:
I was surrendered two years ago, had a rough start with unsuccessful adoptions, but I've spent the last six months with a foster family getting trained and loved. I need someone patient and consistent to set expectations.
Interests and Activities:
- I love fetch, tug of war, cuddling, and running around the backyard.
- Daily training sessions reinforce my good behavior.
- I enjoy chewing on toys and treats for focus and behavior.
- Pats, especially on my bottom, back, and tummy, are my favorites.
Goals for Adoption:
- Ideally, a home with no cats and limited access to native wildlife.
- Someone understanding of my triggers and willing to provide consistent reinforcement.
- Help with my recall, managing stubborn moments, and walking on a loose lead.
If you're looking for a loyal companion who will fill your home with love and laughter, consider adopting me, Koda. I've been abandoned before, but with your love, I'm ready to be part of a forever family. Let's embark on this journey together! 🐾❤️
