About Makani
Makani is an absolute sweetheart. She is the smallest of the four siblings that came to us, and her temperament matches her size. Makani is a gentle pup at this stage and very affectionate in nature. She loves to cuddle and snuggles into you or her doggy friends for nap time. During playtime, she loves her toys and interacting with the others. When she finishes her game, Makani is happy to sit on her foster carer’s feet, or with the older dog in her foster home, so that she can sit back and watch what is going on around her.
Due to her young age, Makani is yet to do too much exploring of the big wide world around her. She has been happy to be nursed and cuddled by strangers on the couple of excursions she has had. However, she will need a family who has the time and patience to provide her with positive exposure and experiences out and about. She will need support and guidance until she gains her confidence. For this reason, Makani will require a home with another dog who is older, stable and unfazed by the surrounding environment. This will provide a great role model for Makani to learn from and a wonderful support for her.
Makani has begun some basic training while in foster care. She has now learned how to sit and is learning drop as well as how to walk on a lead. Makani will need to attend puppy school and continue training activities beyond that to ensure that she develops into a happy and well-mannered adult dog. She will need an owner committed to this training and her ongoing socialisation with other dogs. Ideally, she will be able to have playdates with other known friendly dogs rather than going to an uncontrolled environment like a dog park. Makani has started her toilet training and crate training at home, and she also travels well in the car.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Makani where her owner has the knowledge and previous experience in how to train and socialise a puppy appropriately. As previously mentioned, she will need a home with another dog and it will be an added benefit if someone was around more often than not at home as well. Makani should be allowed inside to be with the family and will require a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside at night. She is better suited to a quieter and more mature home environment without children at least at this stage. Makani is only a baby so will be fine to live with other species of animals given appropriate introductions and training. This super sweet little girl is just primed to grow into a stunning and lovely natured adult dog. She will bring a lot of cuteness and love to her new home for sure.
If you would like to make Makani a part of your family, then please submit a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please outline your previous puppy raising experience, provide some information about your current dog and tell us about the type of life that Makani will have with you.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
