About Kobe ( Was Emmett)
Emmet is an amazing companion, and his gentle nature makes him a great dog for someone able to dedicate their time to him! He loves to give and receive attention, especially when it comes to tummy scratches! Whenever you come home, Emmet gets so excited that he will grab your hand with his paw and push it down to his belly for some petting.
Emmet is building his confidence while alone and to help with this he is on some short term behavioural medication. His new family will need to agree to Foster to Adopt Emmet and work with our behaviour team to make sure he is making make progress with being left on his own.
Emmet will even dramatically collapse onto the floor for extra-long scratches! But despite his own enthusiasm, Emmet is always incredibly gentle around other dogs, even if they are barking at him. He would love another dog in his new home to keep him company. He loves meeting new people - from family and friends to strangers on walks - and greets them all with kisses in the morning.
Emmet is not a fan of plastic bags or vacuums, but he does enjoy going to the dog park, tolerates baths (when necessary!), and isn't picky about where he sleeps - whether it's on the bed or the floor. He has even learnt how to sit for treats or food without being told! When you're upset or feeling down, Emmet will keep watch over you until you feel better again. But no matter what your mood, Emmet is always up for a lazy day of movie watching or a long walk with plenty of exploration.
Please note: Emmet's new home will need a backyard with high 'Husky' proof fences.
LOCATION: FOSTER CARE **Application Process** If you are interested in this pet and ready to adopt now, please send in an application to the SCAR Adoption Team. On the Pet Rescue profile, push the "Enquire About This Pet" button. Follow the prompts to "send enquiry now" and in the message section please tell us all about you and your home. Ensure you tell us about anything specific that you feel makes you a great match for this particular pet, or if you have specific requirements for a pet coming in to your home. The information you provide helps us to start a conversation with potential adopters, and find a great match for pets in our care. Please note the following: We do not take applications for animals over the phone, as we are a small team and are trying our best to be fair to all applicants while creating the best outcomes for our animals. We aim to reply to all applications within 5 business days, and will confirm with all applicants once we have an adoption meet booked for the animal. All of our meet and greets occur at the adoption center in Craigieburn, and all going well you will take home your pet on the day of the meet. The majority of our animals are in a foster home, not at the shelter, so you need to apply via the website to meet them. Thank you! www.secondchanceanimalrescue.com.au ... because they all deserve one!
