About Crumble
Isn't Crumble just divine âŠ..
This gorgeous pup is an English Staffy x who now seeks her forever home
The time has come for our sweet and sassy little tiger-striped tearaway to find her forever family. Crumble is such a bright and busy pup - she is the first to run outside for a game but she is also the first to follow her humans back inside and dive bomb them on the couch to make sure she gets in the best position to snuggle up in their lap! Crumble is easily recognisable as a staffy, with her square little body and stumpy legs tearing around the backyard at full speed. Her short, velvet-soft coat is beautiful to stroke, although she is sturdy enough to also enjoy a good solid paddy-whack on her rump as she lays across her foster mumâs lap! Crumble is absolutely delightful with kids, cats and dogs and will make a lovely addition to a wide range of families.
Crumble has been fostered in a home with three large, boisterous resident dogs, a young female foster dog, and also her female litter mate. She is a very well-mannered, respectful pup, who is confident enough to invite other dogs to play with her, but she is also submissive. She loves a good game of chase and she is happy to be involved in some rough play, although she will run back to the safety of her foster mum if there is any hint of conflict.
Crumble has been in foster care with three dog-savvy cats and has been absolutely fascinated by them. She and her litter mate follow them around devotedly, noses all up in their business, and occasionally yapping at them, but without a hint of malice or desire to hurt them. Resident cats in Crumbleâs new home who are confident around dogs will be able to put her in her place in no time.
Crumble has also been in care with children aged 11 years and older and has truly loved being in their company.
Crumble is the more assertive of the two puppies and has already taken on the role of protector over her little sister. She is more hesitant to go to strangers and will bark when new people come into the house - this has been easily resolved each time by having the visitor completely ignore Crumble until she approaches and gives them a sniff. A few treats thrown on the floor in her direction seals the deal and Crumble is then their new best friend! Crumble would be best suited to a dog-experienced family who can continue to build her confidence to new people and experiences
EXERCISE AND ENRICHMENT
As a young puppy, Crumble has not been taken outside the boundary of her foster home and has only had a few experiences walking on a lead. She is such a devoted little follower when she walks around the acreage at her foster home, we have no doubt she will be easily leash-trained. Like all dogs, Crumble will require a walk outside of her home every day.
Crumble is everything a puppy should be and just loves her toys - she has been quite a good âcarerâ of her toys and has not shown a desire to tear things apart. On the other hand she is a staffy⊠and her true love of destroying things may start to emerge as she grows up and gains confidence in her new home. Her absolute favorite thing whilst in foster care has been the small classic Kong toy which she makes a beeline for every time she sees it, sneaking off to chew on it contentedly until the resident grumpy old cattle dog (whose favorite toy it is also) realizes she has it and gives her âThe Lookâ , at which point she realizes she has to give it up for him to take.. Her new owners need to be prepared to âpuppy-proofâ their home to ensure she doesnât get herself into serious trouble doing the things that puppies do and chewing on things they shouldnât be. Crumble is literally a âclean slateâ and apart from already knowing the âsitâcommand, she requires training from scratch - but she is smart and eager to learn and just LOVES treats so she will be very easy to train and will make her owners super proud of her in no time.
TOILET TRAINING
Crumble is NOT reliably toilet trained yet and her new owners need to be prepared to work hard on this from the outset..
EATING AND SLEEPING
As a young puppy, Crumble still needs plenty of sleep at night and a few naps during the day. Routine is also important for her as a puppy learning her place in the world. She currently sleeps in her crate overnight with her litter mate and they are both happy to go to bed in their crate without any crying or whining. They sleep from about 10pm to 7am. environment and new routine. Her new owners therefore need to be prepared to manage this typical puppy behavior, which will of course pass with time, love and patience.
CAR TRAVEL
Crumble has only been in the car to go to the vets. Once in the car, she settled quickly onto the floor of her crate where she went to sleep. Crumble showed no sign of being affected by travel sickness.
IDEAL HOME
Crumble is truly adorable - she is so placid and smart, and would make a lovely addition to a wide range of families.
A home with a medium to large backyard with grass, shelter, and secure fencing.
A home with or without children, they must be dog savvy children who can handle puppy behavior.
A home with or without another dog.If another dog is in residence already we seek a Male of medium to large size who is well socialized and tolerant of puppy behavior.
A daily walk. Short walks while she is a puppy and her bones are developing. A moderate-long walk when is older and has more energy to burn.
A lot of love and training! Crumble should be welcomed as part of the family and not just left on her own in the backyard all the time. Her new owner should dedicate time to training and take her to puppy classes.
She is young enough to learn if you have a dog savvy cat
We recommend children in the home to have prior dog / puppy exposure before your family applies for a young pups puppies do teeth and have sharp little puppy teeth
