Muffin can present as quite shy at first, she likes to have comfortable hiding spaces and appreciates low pressure interactions. Once she’s settled into her environment she shows her active and cheeky side. She is a very active cat who loves to play with her toys. She enjoys pouncing and hunting activities, so will need a home that is happy to provide her with plenty of enrichment to keep her mind and body happy.
Muffin is not a fan of human touch but will relax nearby, follow you around the home, and maybe even try to share your bed. Muffin is active at night and can be a bit cheeky, sometimes digging up houseplants. She loves scratching activities so having access to a large scratching post and/or cat tower is essential. Muffin can sometimes play rough so an adult household with experience reading cat body language would be most appropriate.
Muffin would benefit from being housed in a safe room like a spare bedroom or office while settling, she may need this for several weeks. She would LOVE access to an outdoor cat run to burn some energy, and may enjoy the company of a cat-friendly feline with a slow introduction.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
