Hi, I’m Simba.
I’m looking for a home with an experienced and confident handler. As you can see I’m a strong and large boy so I need to be in capable hands. I’m very sweet with my handlers here, and love leaning against them while they’re patting me. Neck scratches in particular are my favourite.
I can sometimes be timid around new people and need a little time to warm up. My carers have also noticed that if they move their arms too quickly I flinch. I hope my new family is gentle with me. Due to my sensitive nature I’d be best in a home with older children who are at least 12 years old.
I have met other dogs at the facility and I don’t mind walking around them, but I don’t like being face-to-face. For this reason I’d be best as the only pet at home for now. I’d also love a yard with high and secure fencing to keep me safe at all times.
I’m pretty strong on lead at the moment but after 10 minutes or so I start to walk nicer. This would be the perfect time to train me in basic obedience and loose leash walking!
