About Doug
Meet Doug, a seven-month-old Cattle Dog x Kelpie with amber eyes and a love for snuggles!
Doug is an affectionate puppy looking for an active family who can provide him with a backyard or acreage to run around and play in. He is very people-oriented and loves to cuddle, so he needs to be allowed inside the house to be around his family.
Doug is a quick learner and has some basic obedience training. He enjoys his food and is receptive to training, which makes him a joy to work with. He is receiving crate training and does not exhibit separation anxiety. In addition to regular exercise and playtime, Doug will benefit from daily mental enrichment activities to keep his mind active and stimulated.
Originally bred as a working dog, Doug loves to run around and needs daily walks to burn off his energy. He is best suited to an active family who can provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Doug is currently living with a foster brother, and while he loves to play chase and bitey-face, he can sometimes be a little rough. He is still learning doggy body language and needs a family who can continue his socialization with other dogs.
Doug loves to chew and needs a family who can provide him with appropriate toys and redirect him when he gets confused. He is best suited to a family with children over the age of 8 or with no children at all, as he can jump up and may accidentally knock over small children.
If you are interested in adopting Doug, please ensure you have a secure, fully-fenced backyard or acreage, and can commit to providing him with daily exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training. You must also have the time, patience, and experience to help Doug continue to develop into a well-behaved and happy companion.

Last word from his foster carer:
Doug is an absolute delight. He endears himself to everyone, and loves to snuggle up. Being so young, and having spent time in loving homes, he doesn’t have any issues and responds really well to positive reinforcement training. He will be very popular, and will make his new family very, very happy! We are looking forward to meeting applicants.

Adoption details
Below are the step-by-step instructions for the adoption process at Hear No Evil:
Step 1: Fill out the adoption application
Complete the adoption application found at the following link: https://www.jotform.com/203212544415848. Once the application is completed and returned, it will be assessed for suitability.
Step 2: Phone call from HNE team
You will receive a call from one of the HNE team to discuss your application in more detail. This will be followed up by another phone call to answer any further questions or concerns that may be raised from the previous call.
Step 3: Meet and greet with the dog and yard check
If your application progresses, a meet and greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and current dogs is arranged where possible. Should this not be possible due to being interstate, then an online meet with the foster carer will be arranged. This usually coincides with a yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept.
Step 4: Final adoption approval obtained from the HNE Committee.
Step 5: Payment of adoption fee
Payment of the non-refundable adoption fee in full is required prior to the handover of the dog. You will receive all the animal's possessions, and certificates will be emailed. Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the adopting party. Hear No Evil is happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step: Microchip details and finalisation of adoption
Once the 14-day "settling in" period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised. More information can be found in the Terms & Conditions on the adoption form.
