✨🐣 EASTER ADOPTION FEE SPECIAL 🐣✨
🐱🥞 MEET PIKELET 🥞🐱
Nature
Pikelet has come a long way in her time in foster care. The smallest of the litter, she has a shy, timid nature and it has taken her a long time to trust humans. She spent most of her first six months in hiding, only coming out at meal times to nibble tuna from her Foster Mum's fingers. However, in the last few months, something has shifted in her and she has discovered the magic of pats and snuggles!
Now, she will come and greet you in the mornings with her tail in the air and rubbing around your ankles, asking for pats. She is still not 100% trusting yet, so it takes her a while to calm down enough to sit down next to you on the couch, but she does come towards an outstretched hand and will headbutt your fingers furiously while walking up and down letting you scritch her.
Her Foster Mum is convinced that she will continue to come out of her shell and become even more of a cuddle bug with continued pats and plenty of care and attention.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Pikelet has lived with her brother cat Muesli all her life, and bows to him because he is much bigger and more confident than her. However, she does give him a talking to if he plays too roughly with her or disrespects her personal space too much. She would do well with a polite, confident kitty friend to give her confidence and treat her nicely.
Pikelet has also lived with an elderly Greyhound her whole life, and is quite comfortable around her. She respects the doggo's space, but isn't frightened of her when the doggo is being calm and quiet.
She does take cover though if there is any excitement, emerging again when things have calmed down and the coast is clear. Because of this, Pikelet would prefer a house with quiet, calm people who will give her space and time to build up trust.
Likes / Dislikes
Pikelet loves sitting at the window, watching the neighbours and snoozing in the sun. She loves her dinner, especially tuna in springwater, finding cosy hiding spots (the wardrobe is a particular favourite) and chasing bugs or flies that have made their way into the house.
She dislikes rough play, visitors, loud noises and being picked up.
My PURR-fect home would be one where my shy, gentle nature is respected, and one where I receive plenty of reassurance that humans are safe and friendly. One on one pats, play and treat-time daily with a kind human would be ideal. I would enjoy living with my brother Muesli, or another a confident, friendly kitty to show me that the world is not as scary as I think.
Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.
