About Gizmo
Hey there, how’s it going? My name is Gizmo and I am ready for my forever home
Now you have probably looked at my photos and just been blown away at how cute I am – I mean come on how could you not – I am a 5 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
My brother and I came into care when we were young due to an unknown illness – unfortunately my brother did pass away despite the rescue obtaining the best medical care they could. I however fought really hard and won my battle and I am here ready to take on the world! The vet man gave me a clean bill of health.
I am a typical puppy who loves to play, sleep, have cuddles and basically just do puppy things.
My foster mum says she would like to say I’m a quiet ninja who you never know is there but noooope she calls me dramatic – I love to play with my fur siblings but from time to time if we are wrestling or playing and I feel like I’m not getting enough attention I will let out a dramatic cry and expect people to come running – that did happen for the first few weeks of me playing but now my foster mum has cottoned onto me and she just tells me to stop being dramatic. Hee hee busted!
I have been socialized with other breeds of all ages and sizes and temperaments since I was 7 week old and love love love to snooze with another dog. I have been known to accidentally walk over someone’s head to squeeze into a bed with them for a snooze.
I love to have cuddles with my humans and from time to time just like to have kisses rained on my head for no other reason than just cause I’m me!
I do want a home where there is a few people who can love on me and also a home with another dog who wants to play with me but also to snuggle with at snooze time. At bedtime I very much love to snuggle with my foster sibling in a dog bed in my foster mum’s room.
My foster mum used to tease me saying I had the angry eyebrows look down pat but these days I am learning to do the puppy dog stare
I have all my basic training down pat (ha ha ha pun intended) and I’m trying really hard to remember to not jump up on your leg when you get home – I do forget from time to time my manners but that is just cause I’m excited your home and I’m still a baby
I love being able to have access to inside and outside and love being able to go out into the garden thru the day and have a good run around I am good with other dogs however I would not do well being locked outside 8+ hours a day, I definitely need to be part of a family. If you worked from home I am more than happy to have a dog bed in your office and just keep you company while you mutter about your work colleagues.
If you don’t work I would happily help you in the garden or after a good play with my fur sibling snuggle next to you while you read a book.
I am still a pup so my foster mum has mentioned something about me being a kleptomaniac sometimes - but hey I'm a pup and just still learning.
I am not tested with cats but should be fine worst case I may chase or bark at them a few times but being so young I can learn.
I am working on my house training and my foster mum says we are about 92% there

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
