About Jack
Meet darling Jack. When Jack arrived at the shelter he was initially a little shy and took some time to warm up to people he didn't know. As a young Jack Russell cross, Jack loves to engage with play using his mouth, and enjoys playing with toys when he's comfortable.
Jack was fortunate enough to go to a foster home, where it took him about two weeks to settle in, and then he became attached to his new family. Initially he had shown very little interest in food or treats, but after settling in, he now adores treats, as well as fruits and veggies and enjoys munching on them in the sun in the backyard.
He is an affectionate boy who loves to cuddle, get belly scratches, and follow his carers around the house like a shadow. Jack loves spending time in the backyard and can remain there for hours without showing any signs of separation anxiety.
Jack enjoys the company of older humans and teenagers with a full understanding of personal space.
Although Jack still gets a bit nervous when his leash is put on, his carers have found some tricks to help him feel more comfortable. Jack can be initially shy when meeting new people, but he relaxes after a while.
Jack still requires further training in some areas such as handling, appropriate behaviour and resources, and for this reason, he needs to be adopted into an adult only home.
Overall, Jack is a wonderful dog who has come a long way since his initial arrival at the shelter and in foster care, and with some patience, dedication and training, he will continue to thrive.
