About Minnie
Hi I’m Minnie,My siblings and I came into care under BVAR’s Last litter program. Meaning our mum gets desexed at no cost to her owners and ending the cycle of unnecessary litters.
I am a sweet girl who just needs to be given a chance at a new life. I like meeting new people and dogs, everyone is pretty awesome. I am happy to rest with you for small moments, but I also have lots of energy that will require me to have good stimulation activities. I love running so would suit an active person who would take me on runs or regular walks. I love playing with my rope toy and any toys really.
I have regular interaction with the larger dog in my home and enjoy running with them, but I would do perfectly fine on my own provided I have adequate socialisation opportunities with other dogs. I have previously shown some food possession, which is managed by being fed separately from any other dogs or animals in the home.
It's noted I do have a high chase drive so although I’m currently living in a house with 2 cats, and I’m trying to be good (and getting better!), I do still really want to chase them. I’m unsuitable with poultry or horses as I tend to harass and chase them, however this is more of a game than aggression.
My current foster family has lots of kids (youngest is 10), and I love to play. I can still be a bit jumpy when excited but I am working on this, I just need some firm guidance and extra training. But for now I’m probably better suited to older kids who aren’t easily knocked over. I can sit, wait and shake, and I know inside and outside. I am getting the hang of walking on a leash - the main problem is I spend 90% of the time looking up to see if I’m doing it right - which makes it hard to walk in a straight line! I sleep in the garage at night and stay there all night with no issues. I rarely make a noise, only really barking when I notify the family of visitors.
I’m not scared of anything, storms or thunder are not a bother.
I am going to grow up to be a big, graceful, bendy, bouncy, loveable dog. I’m a little bit musical - I like to listen to my foster dad play guitar, and if you pull out a harmonica I sing along. I’m also very gentle and loving - when I’m not bouncing, I love gazing into your eyes, chin rubs and face massages.
