About Shirley
Hi! I'm Shirley and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR Shirley
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/8vsJDevyoYgVYvuz5
NOTE: You are unable to meet Shirley until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Shirley in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs. I can be weary and defensive of dogs at first when I feel threatened, but once I warm to them I LOVE being in their company and playing with them, especially little ones
• I arrived at the shelter as a stray so my history is unknown. Due to this, my interaction with cats that are free roaming in the house or yard is completely unknown. I showed no interest in them when meeting them at the shelter, a little weary if anything, so I may be ok going to a home with a dog savvy cat.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Lots of love and attention
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
My best features:
• Soft disposition
• I can sit
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I walk well on lead
• I LOVE soft toys
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• I walk well on lead
• I enjoy playing with other dogs once I get to know them
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require further basic obedience to learn some new cool tricks
• I can be weary and defensive of dogs at first when I feel threatened, but once I warm to them I LOVE being in their company and playing with them, especially little ones
• I can be a bit bouncy when excited - training & positive reinforcement should help this
• I may whine when first left alone but I do settle quickly. A home with another dog for company/and or a family who is home a lot and includes me in as many daily activities as possible will be beneficial for me.
