A solid ball of goofy muscle, smart, playful and huggable, Spear will suit a home and a lifestyle that he can fit into with ease.

Spear doesn’t like being confined, so he will do best in a home that has access to the outside (he is big but can fit through most dog doors) with a spacious yard which has a very high fence (REQUIRED) as he doesn’t like being outside alone. He needs to sleep inside (scared of the dark!!) and will happily share 90% of your bed but is quite content on his own bed with his hoomans and will sleep through the night. Once he knows his way around he will let himself out in the night (though rarely needs to).

Spear is great with kids (absolutely LOVES them) but like with all dogs needs to be supervised and reminded that he needs to calm down as he doesn’t know his own strength, and could knock them down with his love.

Pocket pets are not recommended. He gets along well with other dogs but he may be too much for smaller dogs as his strength means that it can be a hazard.

Spear needs some training on the leash but he’s a fast learner and it will be a great bonding exercise for both parties. Spear is anything but aggressive, he just wants LOVE!!!

Spear is housetrained and very obedient and he will adjust and make himself at home immediately. Despite his “Scooby Doo” personality, he is a great cuddly companion, and a delight to all.
