Meet our absolutely stunning Labrador MissGolden Syrup Syrup aka Billie

Golden is a little ray of sunshine, just a gorgeous girl with a personality to match

Golden is a small size lab, with a big happy smile and of course plenty of tail wags

Golden came to her foster home unsure of the big wide world, submissive and nervous and had never been walked on the lead. She has just blossomed every day as she’s settled into care

Golden weighs just 24 kilos so as we said a smaller size girl who is the perfect size for a family seeing the loving joy of a little size Golden ray of sunshine

In her time in foster care she has now come out of her shell and shown her sweet loving personality.

Golden is a very happy girl who loves to be around her favorite people.

Golden has started to understand what6 the joy of toys are and as time goes on she is gaining more confidence and understanding around what they are

Medical

Golden Syrup has had her hips and legs x-rayed and everything came up clear

Inside/Outside/ Independence:

Golden has been left alone during the day while the foster mum is at work. Initially she seemed a bit distressed but that has soon settled as she has learnt routine

She has had access to most of the house while left alone and has had some mishaps with chewing on a few things she shouldn’t lol be but majority of the time seems to be quite ok being left alone whilst at work.

Golden has shown some signs of anxiety whilst closed off alone in the backyard by scratching at the door so would prefer to be an inside dog during the day. A doggy door would be perfect for her to come and go as she pleases

She sleeps independently in the lounge room on her bed.

Gelden is still learning how to play with toys as she has clearly not been introduced to them before and is still a bit wary of them.

She is not a very vocal girl and has shown no sign of excessive barking at all!

Golden rarely jumps when excited, she will pop her head and body in a downwards submissive position even when excited about the situation at hand.

Car Travel:

Travels well in the car, happy to jump in and out

Enrichment:

Golden is a snoozy girl but enjoys her 45 minute walk in the afternoon.

She is still learning that toys are a fun thing to be played with.

Golden loves to walk, sniffing all things doggy. On the way home she walks past the local oval peeking at all the dogs and people playing around. We feel she would love to join in and be a social butterfly at these kinds of events

She is very happy when you get home from work and loves a big pat hello

Walks:

Golden was very unsure at the start of being on the lead and harness as she had never been walked on one!

She was so unsure that when the lead came out she became very nervous, dropping to the ground and was hard coax her out of the house

After some daily encouragement she is now very excited when she sees the lead. She knows it means fun times

Tail wags and sniffing all along the way!

She is great on the lead and has not pulled but just shows excitement whilst passing other dogs / people as it is all so new and she is so intrigued by it!

Socialization:

Maple has not been exposed to other pets or children. We feel she would be fine in a home with dog savvy kids

Golden loves people, everyone she has been introduced to has fallen in love with her. She wants pats and attention from everyone and she gets them as she’s so dam cute 🐶 She is very excited to meet dogs and people on her walks

She has had a doggo play date with a young male and absolutely loved it. She was eager to play and have a chase and engaged well showing lots of happy social behavior

Very dog social, never shown aggression and has been eager to meet all those she has come into contact with

Obedience and Training:

Beautiful Golden is completely toilet trained when she arrived it was obvious not been taught any other commands in saying that in the short few weeks she has learnt

-beginning to learn sit/wait/lets go when crossing roads

-beginning to learn wait /come

Golden definitely understands what no means even though she is a little bit cheeky sometimes

She is very treat orientated and therefore easy to train

She is a very smart girl and with some training she will make an amazing family pet

Sleep Habits:

Golden sleeps happily on her own in the living room in her bed

If invited she will sleep on her bed in the bedroom but is perfectly happy after a walk in her own bed and space

She can be a very snoozy girl if there is not much going on around the house!

Will happily sleep in until you do as long as the back door is open for access in the morning

No disruptions through the night!

Goldens current routine is bed time around 10pm, wakes up with foster mum around 7am, goes outside for the toilet and then has some breakfast and then goes back to sleep once foster mum has left!

Toilet Training:

Completely toilet trained and has had no accidents inside!

She will alert you in the morning if she needs to go outside with a small cry

The back door is always open for her apart from overnight but again she will let you know if she needs to go out in the morning

Being a Labrador she can shed a lot of hair! Would benefit from a daily brush with a deshedding brush

Food and Nutrition:

Golden has dry food in the morning around 7am for breakfast and dry food and some wet dog food incorporated at night around 7:30 after the afternoon walk

Will happily eat both meals but is much more excited about dinner of course

Golden will very gently take treats from you and sit at the same time!

She is very happy to take treats but can be a little unsure at dinner time for some unknown reason

She will sit and wait until told her dinner is “hers” but she can be a little nervous, shy away l if you walk by while she is eating but with reassuring pats and words of confirmation she will go back to her food!

Golden will be around whilst food is being prepared but has never jumped up for it or stolen anything off the bench!

She is a gentle girl who will wait for treats

Ideal Home:

A home with a nice size yard that is well shaded and sheltered for those cooler or warmer days with secure fencing and grass to play

A home that will allow her to be an inside outside girl

A home that will continue her training and keep her well socialized with other dogs throughout her entire life

A home that will make her feel a part of the family

If another dog in residence we are seeking a loving dexed well socialsed male who would make a wonderful role model

Children in the home are welcome but we seek dog experienced mature children

A family that have time to walk her daily
