About June
Looking for a beautiful affectionate puppy? You will get that in spades with the tiny smoochy cuddle girl that is June Bug, or Juno as she is affectionately known as.
Little June is one of the tiny ones from the litter and just ½ the size of most of her siblings. She's such a cute wee little thing
Full of both funny cheeky personality and cuddles - June is so sweet you are bound to fall in love with her.
She has the softest fur, deep brown eyes, beautiful markings and ears that are lovely to touch - but also tell you exactly what she is thinking!
Social with other animals - June has been raised with an older dog and cat.
June is one of a litter of 12
All of her litter siblings will be going up for adoption over the next week so if you are interested in a few of this litter please be sure to apply for each of them. You will only successful for 1 puppy from this litter if selected
Her Mummy is a 20 kilo Heeler x Bull Arab x and Daddy is a German Pointer x Staghound at 43 kilos lets call her a mixed breed lol so as June weighed in at 3.7 kilos at her appointment we are thinking a s,smaller size med at full growth
Favorite things:
June's favorite things are food, people and cuddles. She is most happy being adored - a true princess - she wants to lay on your lap or beside you being told how beautiful she is. She loves rice, meat and veggies but also happily eats her premium dry food. She loves a cushion/kennel to lay on in the sun and watch the world go by. She loves toys to flick around and also adores a kong toy with treats. She is very social with other animals and would happily be housed with another animal/s that is puppy tolerant.
Interaction with Humans:
June loves all humans. Being only a puppy she can be a little jumpy but has quickly learnt to sit and definitely knows the word no. She is not overly bitey (just puppy nibbles) but loves a game of pull rope. She has been around children (but not toddlers) and is very friendly towards them too. She has initially shown some timidness to strangers - but with time quickly warms up and will be showering you with kisses.
Obedience/Training:
Juno is very quick to learn. She picks up instructions very quickly and has easily mastered sit (unless playing and distracted) and also the word no. She is learning 'stay' and 'shake' and with lots of repetition and treats she will learn most instructions quickly. She hasn't been walked (came into foster young and hasn't been vaxxed). She travels well in the car - will initially cry a bit but will settle quickly.
Animal Social Skills:
Juno had been fostered with her brother and they were amazing together. Playful, comforting and at times bossy - she loved being with him. She is also fostered with an older dog and cat - she loves them both a little too much - so if you have animals - they will need to be tolerant of her puppy enthusiasm! She has been exposed to other trusted dogs as well - and she is playful with them once she has had a sniff.
Food:
Food is a big love of this little girl.
Anything and everything she can get her mouth on. She is naturally lean - we think she is more staghound than anything else - so making sure she eats regularly (with access to dry food) will be a priority whilst she is young. She loves good quality treats for training. She eats premium dry puppy food and a dinner of rice, veggies and meat.
Independance:
June is not often alone. She was fostered with her brother and has only spent the last week without him. We have been surprised at how well she has adapted without him and is still a happy confident puppy. When in the backyard she is happy playing. She has been left alone at times and seems to happily have a sleep and a roam. She has a cozy kennel that she loves, lots of options for snoozing and lots of toys available. Juno loves a kong toy (with treats) and doing some zoomies around the yard. She hasn't been overly destructive in the yard - one plant did get dug up though.
Bathing and hygiene:
June is very good in the bath and tolerates it well.
Sleeping:
During the day she happily sleeps in her kennel or on a dog bed in the sun. At night she sleeps in a warm crate (with lots of blankets) in the garage and sleeps all night from 10pm to 7.30pm. She makes very little noise and is generally a happy girl even when crated on her own.
Inside the home:
June is not toilet trained as yet due to her young age. She does have very little accidents inside and is getting better each day. We use puppy pads in the home and she understands their purpose. With consistency and time she shows a lot of promise to be fully toilet trained. She will need to be let out on the grass first thing in the morning with a 'go wee' instruction. Prior to bedtime or coming inside we do also tell her to 'go wee' on the grass and she understands and will comply.
Ideal Home
A home with a medium to large backyard with grass, shelter, and secure fencing
A home with or without children, they must be dog savvy children who can handle puppy behavior
A home with or without another dog. If another dog is in residence already we seek a Male of medium to large size who is well socialized and tolerant of puppy behaviors
A daily walk. Short walks while she is a puppy and her bones are developing. A moderate-long walk when older and has more energy to burn.
A lot of love and training! March should be welcomed as part of the family and not just left on her own in the backyard all the time. Her new owner should dedicate time to training and take her to puppy classes
She is young enough to learn if you have a dog savvy cat.
We recommend children in the home to have prior dog/puppy exposure before your family applies for a young pup, as puppies do teeth and have sharp little puppy teeth.
