About Windmill
Windmill got his name for his tail that just keeps on wagging and wagging and wagging!
This boy is just the sweetest darling ever. Windmill has a lovely laid back nature and is friends with everyone he meets. When you get home he greets you with his whole body wiggling, a big open mouth smile and little bounces on his front feet. He just loves his people. Despite his 30kg size, he is a really gentle boy. Windmill will lean carefully against you for some cuddles and pats. He is just a bundle of love who you can’t help but wrap your arms around.
Windmill came to us from a rural facility in far western NSW where he was chosen to test the other dogs with due to his sociability. Currently, he is living with 4 other dogs of varying sizes, ages and energy levels. He gets on fine with all of the pack in his foster home – gentle with the older dogs and will have a bit of a game with the young ones (although he ends up standing there looking a little bewildered by their crazy zoomies!). Windmill is so easy going he is expected to be able to live with any other friendly dog. He is not a high energy dog; however, he would enjoy a daily walk to keep him happy and healthy throughout his life.
While in care, Windmill has shown lovely manners around the home. He is happy to lie on the floor beside you, even rolling over for some belly rubs. When the harness and leash come out, he gets a bit excited and at first there is a little pulling, but he settles quickly to walk nicely on the lead. Windmill has not had any toileting accidents in his foster home and has not tried to destroy anything. He is not a nuisance barker but will alert to a strange noise which is a deeper rather than a loud bark. When you leave home, he will whine a little but then settles and patiently awaits your return. Windmill travels well in the car as well and would love to go along with his new family on adventures.
We are looking for a dog savvy home for Windmill where he will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities. He can live with another friendly and happy doggie friend and/or will need a home where someone is home more often than not as he just thrives off human companionship. Windmill should be allowed inside to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. Windmill shows some curiosity with the cat in his foster home but doesn’t show any signs of aggression so he could live with a very dog savvy and non-flighty cat with the right introductions and guidance. This beautiful boy deserves a family who will give him lots of love and affection as he is bound to give it back ten-fold.
If you would like to make this lovely boy a part of your family, then please complete a dog Adoption Enquiry Form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your prior dog experience and the type of lifestyle you can offer Windmill.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
