Hi! I'm Mac and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.

NOTE: You are unable to meet Mac until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Mac in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I Cannot go to a home with another dog as since being at the shelter my behavior towards them has deteriorated, i will require ongoing training and socialisation with other dogs so i become good with them again like i was when i first came to the shelter.
• I arrived at the shelter as a stray so my history is unknown. Due to this, my interaction with cats, pocket pets or fowl that are free roaming in the house or yard is completely unknown. There can be no guarantee that I will be ok living with them, so it is recommended that I don't go to a home that has them.
• Due to coming to the shelter as a stray my history with children is unknown. I do seem to be a very gentle boy so I may be ok with children who are used to larger dogs.
• I appear to have a fear of men and will retreat whilst barking, it doesnt take me long to warm upto them but if i go to a home with a male he will need to be patient and understanding with me.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
. Any other animals

My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Gentle & placid
• I can sit on command
. Loves nothing more than to snuggle up on the lounge with you.

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I may show signs of anxiety when I'm left alone in the backyard. Leaving me some enrichment toys/treats may help this and having a doggie friend would be great.
