About Sparky
Hi my name is Sparky, I’m a 1 year and 3 month old Tibetan spaniel x Foxy
I came into care just after Christmas and I have spent a bit of time working on gaining some confidence and can I just say I have it now – my foster mum says my name is Sparky and she says I am a sparkle of joy!
I came into care a bit nervous and unsure of things but since then I have learnt some pretty fun things happen in life!
Like there is people who work from home, don’t work or retired and that means they are home more often than not and I can hang with them – either in their office at your feet or on the couch watching Netflix – that sounds like a perfect life for me!
I am looking for a home that is quiet and calm but still has a few people in the home to hang out and spend time with but then I can have energetic periods where I would love to have a home where they can play with me – throw a ball and hang.
I also love toys – especially the stuffed ones that I can play with – throw up in the air and carry around and make really gross and dirty outside so my foster mum has to wash them (that’s only if they don’t accidentally explode before that!)
I love to give cuddles to my humans and my foster mum has said on more than a few occasions I give great cuddles and kisses!
I am good with other small breed dogs but would like a quiet life so happy to be an only child or with another small breed dog, I have been picked on a lot previously so I would really like a home where I can be me and have a fur friend who wants to be my friend as I do like to play chase with a dog that is here but she is a happy go lucky girl who is not dominant.
I am not tested on cats
I love to sunbath in the mornings – nothing beats the rays of sunshine beating down on me while my human enjoys her coffee – makes you really feel alive!
I can be very nervous meeting new people and would ask that if you give me a few minutes to get comfortable with you that would be better for me – my foster mum says if you give me the time to settle I will reward you with my love when I’m ready.
I came into care not used to walking on a lead but my foster mum has been working with that – I would love a family that would continue taking me for walks and working on my progress.
I would love to be able to have the opportunity to sleep either in a dog bed in a bedroom or on a humans’ bed would be great - I make an incredible hot water bottle.
I am toilet trained but if I can’t get outside I will have an accident in the house.
I am happy to have access to inside and out side during the day (I like to sleep inside on my dog bed where I’m happy ) – I love to be able to have access outside during the day to sniff and explore and then inside when I’m ready for a nap.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application
** Please note applications will close Friday 31st March 2023 at 5.30pm

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
