About Cookie
Cookie is back up for adoption - all but one of Cookies meets cancelled - poor Cookie was sitting waiting to see if his furever family was going to visit.
Yes I really am as cute as you think I am!
I am a teeny tiny little boy who loves a bit of mischief and a lot of loving.
My name is Cookie and I am a Toy Poodle and I am 5 years and 10 months old
I also have to tell you my weight - yep a huge 2.7kgs! I know in your head your working out how little that is - it's little!!!
Now my foster mum says that while I am one of the cutest smallest toy poodles she has ever met I do have some quirks so here goes!
I came into care a few months ago and I was very very timid and unsure of life but I so wanted to be with people and get cuddles and love - my foster mum helped me with all of that!
The rescue sent me to some place for the day that fixed up all my teeth and made it so that I could eat without pain (oh yeah and did a snip so I am no longer able to romance the girls)
I am shy meeting new people and do require a few minutes for people to give me a chance to come to them instead of being rushed and simply just picked up - but when i am comfortable and happy I will happily be carried around and given cuddles
I do prefer a quieter life with another dog in the home for companionship and snuggles and I would love a home where someone is home more often than not or they work from home so that I can snuggle up when I want, go off and explore when I want and just basically have a normal teeny tiny cute as hell soft fluffy butt's life!
I have not really been around kids under 8 and probably not really suitable for a home with younger kids who are going to be loud and wanting to constantly carry me - I also am not a fan of being dressed up so please don't try that on me.
Once I get comfortable in my new home you will see my cheeky side come out - if treats are left out I will try and run of with the packet (okay maybe drag it across the room as it could be heavy). I love to watch my foster mum sort out the internal fencing at her home and then I squeeze thru it and go visit the other dogs that are on that side of the fence (only in my backyard but)
I love to sleep in the same room as you, but prefer an open crate next to your bed which is my favorite spot and then other times I will find another spot in the house that I will crash on and spend time sleeping there.
At this stage I'm not a fan of the car and the thought of going for walks does scare me but I’m so small you could literally carry me if I need to go places - I would love to get some confidence doing this but also if not my family is fine with that as well (I won't be a beach dog or a dog park dog)
I am toilet trained and have no problems at my foster mum house taking myself outside to go to the toilet - I don't have a doggie door but I'm a pretty smart cookie and I'm sure I will work it out in no time.
I do have a mainly white coat but as my hair grows long you do get to see a bit of apricot to it - just makes me cuter! To keep my coat white and soft and fluffy I do require regularly grooming but I have been told I'm a good boy for that too.
My foster mum says I have a few quirks (I like to dance on my back legs when I am happy or reminding you to hurry up and feed me, or I want a pat and you’re not giving me attention), I also like to bring a twig or leaf in from outside and chew it all up on the carpet / couch but I promise I will give you a huge smile after it and you will instantly melt and all will be good again!
I haven't been around cats and most are probably bigger than me anyways but if a cat shows me their claws there is a chance that with all my 2.7kgs fluffy body i will try and tell them off and act like they don't scare me.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application.
** Please note applications will close Thursday 6th April 2023 at 5.30pm

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.
Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed
We can also be found at https://www.facebook.com/pawprintscanine/
Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
