Lucy has been with us for a few weeks now, after living in unsatisfactory conditions in her previous home. She has thrived & has gained over 2kg in weight but still has a ravenous appetite. She is a petite girl and can be quite puppyish at times (she’s only 2yo) – she gets very excited when the lead or car keys are picked up, or of course when meal time approaches. However, Lucy is a very smart girl and learns very quickly. She sits briskly on command (for treats) and is learning to “drop”. She has a great sense of smell and could be a good candidate for someone wanting to train a dog in scent work.
Lucy walks well on the lead and has gained much confidence over the past few weeks – initially she was a bit nervous of traffic noises & wary of unfamiliar dogs, but now she takes these in her stride. Her toilet training has improved out of sight but she will still need a home with a safe, grassed yard. Her ideal home would be with a couple or calm adult family (no kids under 16) who are home a fair bit of the time and can involve her with family activities (and are interested in continuing her training). Lucy is used to being crated for short periods when left alone.
