Adoption information
I've been adopted!
About July
Meet July, a gorgeous, sensitive little princess with a sweet eye patch and vibrant personality to match.
She cuddly, cheeky and very sweet and will suit most home situations
July is one of a litter of 12
All of her litter siblings will be going up for adoption over the next week so if you are interested in a few of this litter please be sure to apply for each of them. You will only be successful for 1 puppy from this litter if selected
Her Mummy is a 20 kilo Heeler x Bull Arab x and Daddy is a German Pointer x Staghound at 43 kilos let's call her a mixed breed lol so as July weighed in at 6.5 kilos at her vet appointment we are thinking a Med - large size at full growth
FAVOURITE THINGS
July loves her toys and the slide in her ball pit and to play with her littermate May. She loves to cuddle up to her human(s) or her carerâs resident male dog when she has finished playing. July also loves her food!
INTERACTION WITH HUMANS
July loves people and cries to be let up on the couch with you as, being a puppy, she canât quite get up by herself without some help or a dog ramp. She loves her human cuddles. If you have long hair watch out; sheâll be wanting to give you her own form of hair-styling! July and her sibling have been on a cafĂ© outing where she was adored by the staff and customers. She has enjoyed meeting new visitors to the home.
OBEDIENCE/TRAINING
July is still mastering the art of toileting. Once she awakes from her sleep July will go straight outside, however still has little wee mishaps inside. July will come when called (at the moment she comes to âPuppyâ). She is vocal and will let you know when she wants your attention lo shes a little attention seeker
ANIMAL SOCIAL SKILLS
July enjoys playing and sleeping with her sister, May, and loves to be near her fosterâs resident senior male medium-sized dog. She is sensitive to her foster dogâs mood and will sit back if she is aware he may not want her company at that time. However, she loves to clamber over him when he allows and to give him a good ear and face wash.
FOOD
When July came into foster care at 5 œ weeks she was quite a bit smaller than her sibling, however she loves her food and has grown so much she is now the same size as her sister. July has been eating Royal Canin biscuits 3 times a day and especially loves the small amounts of wet food she has been given. July can guard her food with little growlsâŠ
INDEPENDENCE
July has been fostered with her sister May so she has had no experience of being on her own. She may need a short time to adjust when she is adopted. July and her sibling have been left alone 3 times a week for around 5 hours each time and there have been no signs of distress or crying. During these times she has been kept in her crate as the one time she was left alone for an hour with the run of the lounge and kitchen, her sister got herself into mischief so it was thought best to keep them both safe whilst her foster carer was out. When her carer leaves the house she does not cry but is very well-behaved.
BATHING & HYGIENE
July tolerates a bath but it is not her favourite past-time.
SLEEPING
July loves to go into her crate voluntarily and have her beauty sleep when she is feeling tired, with or without her sister and loves to snuggle up to her puppy comforter. During the day July will have several sleeps in her safe space. At the end of the day she will put herself to bed around 9-10pm and sleep until around 7am. In the morning she will give a couple of little cries to let you know she would like to be let out. Occasionally during the day she will stretch outside on a bed in the sun, however this needs to be monitored as she has fair skinâŠ
EXERCISE
July plays in her fosterâs backyard and inside the house, playing in the ball pit or with her toys. She has been on a âwalkâ in a pet stroller a few times with her sister and tolerates this well. However, May has not been on a leash walk as she is currently unvaccinated and still very young.
July would suit a family or a single person home. July has not been tested with cats but because she is still so young there is plenty of time to learn to get along with felines.
IDEAL HOME
A home with a medium to large backyard with grass, shelter, and secure fencing.
A home with or without children, they must be dog savvy children who can handle puppy behaviour.
A home with or without another dog.If another dog is in residence already we seek a Male of medium to large size who is well socialised and tolerant of puppy behaviour.
A daily walk. Short walks while she is a puppy and her bones are developing. A moderate-long walk when is older and has more energy to burn.
A lot of love and training! July should be welcomed as part of the family and not just left on her own in the backyard all the time. Her new owner should dedicate time to training and take her to puppy classes.
She is young enough to learn if you have a dog savvy cat
We recommend children in the home to have prior dog / puppy exposure before your family applies for a young pups puppies do teeth and have sharpe little puppy teeth
