About Philly
Cute puppy alert!
Philly is the full package – she has the looks, personality and temperament. This sweet girl has a beautiful scruffy coat and a face that’s cute as pie. She is very friendly with everyone that she meets and is more than happy to collect all the pats on offer. Philly is affectionate and very cuddly with her foster carers. She is a well-balanced pup who is already showing some independence as she will happily spend some time alone in her crate with a chew, without fuss. Philly enjoys spending time in the yard, lying on the grass or looking for any tasty insects!
While in foster care, she has been living with another friendly, adult dog and she has met some appropriately matched dogs out and about and been fantastic with all of them. As with any puppy, it is important that she is given positive socialisation experiences with other dogs, ideally in the form of play dates with other friendly and appropriate dogs rather than at dog off lead areas where the other dogs are unknowns. Philly is expected to grow into a medium or large dog who will require daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy and healthy throughout his life.
Philly is a smart puppy who has begun basic training with her foster carers. She is sleeping through the night in her crate and very good in the car. Walking on a leash is going well and she knows sit and drop. Philly is progressing very well with her toilet training, but like any puppy her new owners need to be ready to continue to work through this. It is imperative that her new owners are committed to her ongoing training. She will need to be trained beyond puppy school to ensure she is a well mannered dog. Philly is slowly learning about the big wide world as she came into care very scared. She is progressing exceptionally well, but can get overwhelmed in new situations. She needs an owner with the experience to be able to get her through these moments and continue appropriately paced exposure work.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Philly where she will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities. She would do best in a home with another friendly dog to help her transition smoothly and provide some extra confidence while she’s still finding her feet in the world. Although we will be preferencing homes with another appropriately matched dog, in lieu of another dog she will need a home where someone is home most of the time. Philly should be allowed inside to be with the family and will need to have a bed to sleep on inside at night. She has not met any children while in foster care, but if parents are well prepared to ensure Philly is not overwhelmed by the presence of children and the kids are dog savvy and will give Philly space when she needs it, she should be ok to live with them. She has not been tested with other species of animals. Philly is currently being fed a fresh food diet and her foster carers would like this continued in her new home. This beautiful girl would also say that cuddle time with her new owners is a must as well!

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
