About Melon
How would you describe their physical features? Orange/light grey tabby, light orange eyes
What are 3 things they like? Head and chin rubs, food, toys
What are 3 things they don’t like? Being woken up from a deep sleep
Where are their favourite areas to hang out in your place? What do they do there? You’ll often find Melon sleeping in the middle of my fluffy rug, on her back with her paws in the air… which makes for the cutest photo! Or she will be stretched out as long as possible on the back of the sofa.
How do they interact with the humans at your place? Melon can be nervous as first but she is curious to stay out of the way for long. She is super food motivated so find a treat and she will be your best friend.
How do they interact with the pets at your place? Melon has never been around children or other animals (apart from her sister)
How have they changed whilst being fostered at your place? Melon just loves being around people, she enjoys being picked up and cuddled and has the loudest purr. She has also found her voice in the last 2 weeks and loves to let you know when she wants something.
What would be the ideal home for your kitten? Melon isn’t a nervous cat and she likes human interaction. I believe she would be suited for most places.
Age: 12 weeks
Health: Perfect
Location: Bondi Junction
Melon is an absolutely stunning 12 week old tabby with light orange eyes.
She loves being around people and enjoys getting head and chin rubs, playing with her toys and of course, eating her food! Her favourite place is in the crook of your arm, being rocked on her back like a baby!
You’ll often find Melon sleeping in the middle of a fluffy rug or stretched out as long as possible on the back of the sofa.
At first she can be a little nervous but she quickly warms up with the offer of a treat and will become your best friend in no time.
Melon has never been around children or other animals (apart from her sister) so would be best suited to a quiet home who will give her the opportunity to settle in at her own pace.
In the last 2 weeks Melon has found her voice and loves to let you know when she wants something, which is accompanied by her loud purr!
Overall, Melon is an affectionate, playful kitten who loves human interaction - she would be suited to most homes!

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A Property check will take place via a video call (due to Covid restrictions). Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals for adoption are kept up to date with vet work until the date of adoption. The pet will be rehomed desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
