About Blu (Bluey)
Blu is nearly 11 months old. He is a very energetic dog and is always switched on. He will require a person or family that has a very active lifestyle and who are committed to training.
Blu loves to play fetch but his most favourite thing is tug of war. He has quite a few tug toys. He absolutely loves his walks, which he currently does twice a day.
Blu is a puppy, a typical adolescent he will require ongoing obedience training to work on his manners with other dogs and people. He wants to jump up and on them to play. He is very strong
He would be best suited to a family with teenage children.
Blu is very food motivated. This is great in regard to training. He walks well on the lead and is doing really well with the 'heel' walk. He sits well, stops at corners before crossing the road, we are still working on 'drop'. When playing with the tug toy, he will give a toy etc back when you say 'give'.
Blue travels well in the car. He travelled from the Central Coast to Melbourne, stopping every couple of hours for a wee and a stretch, no problem. He does need to be harnessed and belted of course though!
Blu is an in-door / outdoor dog. He is outdoors when I am not home (otherwise he would destroy everything) and sleeps in my bedroom. Blu loves a tummy rub. As soon as you start to pat him on the head it is like his knees go to jelly and he slides down your leg and plonks on the ground, ready for belly rubs.
He doesn't bark a lot but he will let you know if the possums are visiting
He has not been tested with cats every time we see them he wants to chase them so I would be wary about that.
Blu does dig and likes to chew on things, when board. He has chew toys and kongs which are stuffed with peanut butter and banana, or frozen chicken necks and bones to chew on, which he absolutely loves. But like any puppy left to
Their own devices once he has got through those, he is on the hunt for something else to occupy him.
