About Hugo

We could not love our darling Hugo more if we tried, and you will absolutely fall in love with him the moment you meet him. He is sweet, loving and will make someone the most wonderful companion.
After a couple of false starts in life, Hugo has landed on his feet with a fantastic foster family who have given him the time, love, guidance and understanding that he needed to come out of his shell and enjoy the dog life as he should.
Hugo recently discovered the love of chasing a ball, so now loves to do this and run around the yard with his foster siblings.
He is currently in care with two cats and two dogs and while he gets on with them, he would much rather be the only animal in his forever home so he can have his humans all to himself. We believe this is the best type of home for him. He does have moments where he gets startled or unsure but these are rare and quickly overcome. Hugo will really benefit from a human/s who will allow for him to make mistakes and understand that it’s not his fault that he is sometimes unsure of certain things.
Hugo is always a good boy at the groomers and has no issues with eating. He is house trained but does need to go out last thing at night right before bed time and first thing when waking up in the morning. Routine will keep him from having any little accidents.
Hugo is best sleeping in his bed on the floor beside your bed as he gets frightened if he gets startled during sleep.
We think Hugo would be best suited to a home where he is not left alone too much as he likes to be involved with family. He loves older kids (14+) but would be best suited to a home without young ones as they can be a bit overwhelming for him.
We know that Hugo will make the most wonderful companion for someone and can't wait to see him thrive in his own forever home once he has settled in.
When meeting one of our animals in care, please remember that a lot of animals can take time to adjust to new people and environments no matter how friendly and loving they really are. We ask you to keep this in mind when meeting our pets at meet ‘n’ greets (and when you take them home) and not rule them out straight away just because they are not all over you at the first meeting. You could miss out on the most wonderful companion. 💖

Adoption details
We ask that before you apply for one of our animals, you take the time to think through all aspects of having a pet in your home to ensure it is the right thing for both your family and the animal, now and in the future. Please consider how you would approach changes in your home that may affect your pet and how dedicated you would be to keeping/helping your animal when faced with any issues that may arise in the future.
If you have done this and are interested in one of our animals, please fill in our adoption enquiry form - www.cognitoforms.com/LostAndFoundPetsIllawarra1/LostAndFoundPetsIllawarraIncAnimalEnquiry
Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's profile.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in to see if it is the right match.
Before adoption, all of our animals are health checked, vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, flea/worm treated and heart worm tested (where appropriate).
