About Miles - 11 Month Old Beagle x Jack Russell (Trial)
How’s Miles?
Miles is a 11-month-old desexed male Beagle x Jack Russell. He was rescued by his foster carers in February. Despite his ‘I don’t give a stuff’ look, he has a great personality, is very affectionate and loves a cuddle. He will always find you wherever you are laying about and snuggle in. Miles is a very smart boy and can easily be trained as he is very food motivated.
He is dog, cat and child friendly. His recall can be quite good. He can sit and wait/stay for his food before being given a break call to allow eating. Toilet training is usually fine with only the odd mishap inside if the carers have forgotten to take him outside as he doesn’t know to warn that he needs to go out. He can suffer from separation anxiety so does need someone or another dog around him all the time. The foster carers have a Labrador the same age and they have been great together. They started eating from each other’s bowls from day one and sharing the same bone with no jealousy or aggression shown at all.
His daily agenda includes a run/walk every morning and in the afternoon usually a swim in the lake or beach. He has enjoyed swimming short distances. We think the ideal family for Miles is:
• A family with an active lifestyle that will include him in those activities.
• Another dog to keep him company when nobody is home. We really don’t think he can handle being home alone at all.
• Allowed to be inside to enjoy and be a part of the family.
His foster carers were very keen to adopt him because he is such a great dog but have realised that the timing isn’t right, so are determined to find him his best home.
