About Sadie
Sadie is a sweet 5yo Border Collie who endears herself to her family and loves physical touch. She needs to be a regular part of her people’s daily life, in a home that allows lots of one-on-one time, daily training and brain work, and regular walks. If a family member were keen and already active in the Agility Course field or something similar, that would suit Sadie well. Sadie has also shown promise as a hobby sheep herding dog when she had an assessment done. Such work would need to be on a small scale, and not with large mobs, but in the right setting it is work she would love learning to do and helping you with. While staying with her suburban foster carers she loves the opportunity to go out on weekends to work dairy shifts with a family member, and during the week to head out on horse rides together. She is a very sensible girl around the horses.
Sadie needs to be a home that doesn't have young children living in it or frequently visiting. She is however comfortable with older children and teens who are calm and confident around dogs. An enthusiastic and confident, desexed doggy friend who has a gentle approach to play would be a welcome part of her new home.
This lovely lady is easily overstimulated by motor sounds, from the coffee grinder in the next room to an aeroplane flying overhead. In response wanting to bark, circle and spin. She has been responding well to redirection when this happens and needs her new family to be dedicated, continuing teaching her to remain calm around these things.
This sweet girl has been dividing her time between a foster home in suburbia, and one out on a large property. With the right plan of action for daily life, she can adapt well to either lifestyle. She is house trained and used to sleeping inside at night.
Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet. We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
