About Max
Max is a remarkable senior gentleman who will melt your heart with his fluffy wagging tail. He is a loyal, affectionate, gentle soul who loves snuggling up with his humans. His three favourite things in life are his cosy bed, food, and going for a walk with you.
When he's happy, Max has an adorable way of trotting up on his toes that will surely bring a smile to your face. He loves to greet his favourite people with a little lick on the leg, and if he's feeling cheeky, you might even get a kiss on the cheek when you cuddle him!
Although Max is in the later stages of life, he still enjoys each day to its fullest. He is excited to see you in the morning and will gladly give his best cuddles. Max looks forward to his breakfast, followed by napping inside in his cosy bed or outside in a shady spot. He often takes a stroll around the garden sniffing this and that. He is still active enough to enjoy going out for gentle daily walks or pottering in and out of the shallow water at the beach.
Max grew up with his mum and dad by his side. He has been missing them since they both passed away last year. In his new home, Max really does need another small, calm, older dog to give him the canine company he has always been used to.
Like most dogs who are lucky enough to reach his grand old age, Max has a few health concerns. This little darling has good eyesight but is mostly deaf. He has a heart murmur and likely has a degree of cognitive decline. He also likely has the beginnings of spinal arthritis and renal disease. A doggy door leading out into the garden would be ideal for Max as he needs to go out to the toilet quite often, including through the night. Max has also never been one for using stairs, which means he will be best suited to a single-level home. The good thing is that Max is blissfully unaware of all of this, and he goes happily about his day with his heart full of love.
Max is a truly lovely and special boy; therefore, he deserves a truly lovely and special home. Ideally, he would be adopted by someone with experience caring for a senior dog. His new family would need to be home more often than not and understand that Max's care needs will potentially increase as he ages further. If you can give Max a wonderful home for his twilight days, he will undoubtedly repay you kindness and love tenfold.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
