About Harriet
Hi, my name is Harriet, I’m an Airedale Terrier and I’m nearly 9 years old.
Now, don’t let my age put you off, because seriously I’m all energy and go go go. You’d think I was 2, not 9, and I can hold my own with the best of them. There’s no elderly stuff going on here.
I’ve spent my whole life as the centre of my parent's world, their only child, and they have lavished care and attention on me. They are so sad that going into care, that I cannot go too, but they are super keen for me to have a beautiful new life.
Is that with you?
So, a bit about me. Yes, ok I am nearly 9 but I’m in tip-top health. I just had a dental and a lump removed (it was benign) and my x-rays show that my legs and hips are great. I love to run and play, and I’m usually full of beans. I love to play with other dogs and I’m cat friendly. I want attention from all the humans – remember I’m used to having the world revolve around me lol.
There is a negative side to me.
Foster Mum says I’m pushy and headstrong, and she’s right. I am pushy. When I want to play with dogs, I don’t know how to take no for an answer, and I tend to get in their face, so some dogs don’t like me. You’ll be able to help me with that by reminding me to leave them alone. I also like to stick my nose in everything… but hey I don’t steal, chew, or destroy. I’m just a bit of a pokey nose. Occasionally I like to dig a hole so I hope you need help with the gardening.
I really want your attention and affection. Can you please play with me? I also love to swim so I’d love it if you have a kiddy pool for me to play in and I’d love to go to the beach.
My obedience is pretty good – I can sit drop and stay on my mat. I walk well most of the time but when I see a dog I want to go go go and I lose the plot a bit. My recall is a work in progress but it’s not awful. I love to go for walks but I’m not one of those extreme adventure dogs – a regular walk will do the trick.
Please can I come live with you?
