Missy

Missy is a very sweet 11 year old Pembroke Corgi . Sadly her owner, who had her since a since a puppy had to go into care and Missy was left alone. As so often happens with owner's suffering dementia Missy was overfed and was very overweight . She was however very loved and Missy loved her owner

Missy has now lost over 5 kilos and some distributuon of excess weight is still a little noticable but will disappear in time .

She has had an extensive dental and a health check and other than the weight and a little skin issue which is being treated with antibiotics and regular baths she is very healthy for her age

Missy has lived as an only dog all her life and is now living in foster carer with a few dogs. Initially Missy was defensive to all the dogs but is slowly accepting of them all. We would however recommend an only dog home for her or a very calm similar sized dog and she would need to meet any dog already in the family. . We would also recommend children over 7 due to Missy's age and a home where Corgi nature is understood.

Missy can use a doggy door and is housetrained. We havent seen her with cats but she will likely be fine as if they leave her alone she will do the same

Missy is on a weight loss diet of meat and vegetables , and gentle excercise. she loves a walk , ride in the car , a bath and brush. Missy has a very heavy coat which needs regular and constant stripping , she also needs a cool floor on a hot day Professional grooming is recommended Missy is now weighing in at 14.8 kilos

Missy is in foster care in Hinton near Maitland and available to go to her home at the end of March
