About Ada
Little miss spunky Ada is ready to take on the world!
This girl may be little, but she is full of life and personality. Ada is an alert pup who is always clued into what is happening around her. She is adventurous and curious in nature so is happy to get out there and give things a go. Ada loves people and is keen to go up and say hello to new people and lap up all the pats. She is going to be the type of dog who will want to join you on all of life’s adventures and be your best buddy. Ada enjoys playing with toys and will happily engage in a good game of tug of war with her siblings.
Ada is showing her true working instincts. She needs someone who understands working dogs and ready to handle that punch in a small package. She has good drive and intensity for someone who is ready or keen to have fun with training. Don’t worry she is a good balance that can turn off and have a cuddle too.
The parents of this litter are apparently a cattle dog mixed breed on one side and a small mixed breed on the other. So new owners will need to be prepared for them to be larger small to medium sized dogs. Ada has shorter legs and may end up more on the larger small size; however, they are mixed breed pups after all so we can’t guarantee that. She may be one of the smaller pups in the litter, but this girl is definitely one of the most active. Ada will require significant daily exercise and mental stimulation as an adult dog. Like any working breed mix puppy, she will need ongoing training to ensure that she learns good doggie manners, and this will also meet some of her mental stimulation needs. She will benefit from impulse control training activities and crate training as well.
While in foster care, Ada has been living with her siblings and a number of adult dogs who have provided a great start to her socialisation. The foster carer has also been ensuring that the puppies are being exposed to a range of things such as hoses, vacuum cleaners, different noises and textures, etc. in a positive way. They have even been to Bunnings and watched traffic going past on the road from the safety of their crate. This positive socialisation and exposure training will need to be continued by Ada’s new family who will need to consider how they can provide these experiences in a controlled manner.
Socialisation with other dogs should be started with known friendly dogs in controlled environments rather than dog parks, particularly while the puppies build their confidence in the world.
We are looking for a committed and dog experienced home for Ada who will include her as part of the family and enjoy lots of activities with her. She will need a home with another friendly adult dog who has already been trained up and able to tolerate typical puppy behaviours. Alternatively, she will be able to live as an only dog if her owners are able to provide the appropriate transition, and the required level of mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis by being home more often than not. Ada must be allowed to be inside with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. She is young enough to be integrated with other types of pets with the appropriate training and introductions. Ada is a more intense personality so is probably better suited to older more dog savvy children who can partake in her training.
We are not looking for a unit or first time dog owners. Working dog experience is preferred or she would be an amazing candidate for a dog sport! Please don’t apply if you just want a companion for your little dog or if you have no interest in training.
If you are interested in adopting this beautiful girl, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. You will need to add plenty of details to your application about your current family members and pets as well as your prior dog experience and the lifestyle you can offer Ada. Only applicants that sound suitable on paper will be put through to the next stage for consideration.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
