About Chico *On Trial*
*chico is currently trialling his new home* wow what an amazing coloured coat chico has!! such a yummy dark chocolate colour with golden highlights that shimmer in the sun and its oh so soft and scrumptious, you can’t help wanting to give him pats and cuddles which of course he adores!!
lovely little chico spent way too long in the pound……. . First he was picked up by the ranger for wandering the streets of mildura, then when his owners didn’t collect him he was adopted by another local who didn’t bother picking this gorgeous pup up from the vets so back to the pound he went to spend his christmas and new year. When the pound reopened he was discovered by a sarg volunteer who was horrified that this pup had spent over a month in the pound through no fault of his own so his vet bill was paid and he was released into sarg’s care where he’s having a fabulous time doing all the normal thing pups should do like enjoying the feel of grass beneath his paws instead of concrete as well as getting lots of love and affection which he happily gives back in truckloads! so now chico’s looking for his really-truly forever home :)
chico is a bright, cheery, healthy pup who interacts well with his carers other dogs, playing a more submissive role. He’s good with the cat and even spends time with their miniature horse, giving him friendly licks on the nose! chico gets excited when he first sees you though settles quickly and is happy to hang by your side while you do your thing. He is confident around people and reckons children are great fun. Chico's turning out to be a real water-baby as he loves a swim and fetching sticks from the river! we’re not sure of what breeds make up chico so the vets played it safe by calling him a “terrier x” – there may even be some dachshund in there with his long silky ears, elongated body and short little legs, who knows?? \ though we do know for certain that what ever he is it’s a perfect combination!!
while in care chico will learn the basics such as “sit” and “down” and as he’s only a young pup he will require ongoing obedience training as well as socialisation with other dogs so he grows up to have lovely manners! \ daily walks, secure fencing, bones to chew on and toys to keep him stimulated are also a necessity so he doesn’t get bored and up to mischief. Chico would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a doggie companion to learn from or on his own but only if he won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially while he’s a pup. If you think you’ve got the time, patience and love to bring up chico the chocolate baby then please contact sarg for an application now!!
