Checkout this gorgeous boy, Denver. He is your typical Jack Russell, a busy little bee.. Denver has a happy demeanor about him, lots of tail wags, full of enthusiasm for life. Always on the go sniffing and exploring his world, typical of his breed. His little legs never stop, always something to see and do.
He’s a friendly fella to kids, adults and other dogs. He would make a perfect companion to an active person or family with dog savvy children

Favorite things
There is not much this little guy doesn’t like. He enjoys chasing balls, playing with toys, tug o war, just keeping busy
Loves a walk at the park where his little nose works overtime with all the glorious smells
He gets great satisfaction form a good game of you chase me, I chase you
Playing with toys, humping his favorite cushion
Getting his feet wet and the local stream

Human interaction
Denver likes meeting new people. He is drawn to kids playing ball and would be a great little fella around dog savvy children
He can at times be mouthy but means no harm, just a firm ‘no’ usually stops the behavior.
He is not your lap dog until the end of the day when he’s tired he will happily snuggle next to you and roll over for a tummy rub
During the day he likes to spend time following you around but not always up for a cuddle. Denver is great company and easy to have around

Other animals
Denver is a little pocket rocket and expects other dogs to have the same exuberance for play. He will be suited to a dog that likes to run and play. Denver will play with dogs of all sizes from a silky terrier to a big Sarplaninac boy, size does not matter to this boy if they are up for a play. He won’t be suited or rehomed with an older dog as he will annoy them with his ‘hey come play with me barks’. He can be a little over the top with his persistence to play but is learning his social cues as he spends more time with the resident dogs . He has not displayed any lead reactivity or aggression to other dogs. He is fed separately as still learning to be polite around food to not try and steal food from other dogs' food. He takes treats gently and has been observed to be ok if you take his chew toys away off him or pat him when eating. Denver does love to chase cats so will not be suited to a home with chicken, rabbits or cats

Obedience
This little fella being 10 months old is still learning his basic commands. He knows sit, he is learning to wait for his food and not to rush out the door when he goes for a walk
He does pull on the lead as finds his walks so exciting. He has been doing some recall practice on a long lead but will definitely need work in this area as he likes to follow his nose. He has been let off at an enclosed oval and does come to his name if there are no other dogs for distraction. He will hang around with his pack and follow their lead. We have observed him to be well socialized. Denver can be a little jumpy when over excited so needs continued training to sit for pats.
He does like to sleep on the couch or bed but will also sleep on a mat or cushion on the floor
He would benefit for continued training, being food oriented he is intelligent and has displayed eagerness to learn

Independence
Denver has shown that he can spend periods on his own, he may carry on with some whining, barking and scratching for about 10 min or so and then settle. He will need a home that he can keep busy and explore and is definitely not suited to apartment living or a small yard. He has displayed a bit of tail chasing which can occur when dogs are under stimulated so this boy needs daily walks and interaction with his humans. He can entertain with toys and will often empty out the toy basket by the end of the day. He should be ok on his own if people work if he has stimulation and interactive toys
Inside the home
Inside the home he is settled. He will nap after a big walk and so far has not shown any excessive barking. He is quiet when you arrive home and when the neighbor's dog barks. He seems to bark if wanting to play or if the other resident dogs bark at passers by.
Denver has not been destructive so far but as he is still young he may have a tendency to still chew the odd things, he did get caught with his foster mums shoe in his mouth

Hygiene
Denver has a short coat that does shed but easy to care for with a daily brush
He has done the odd wee inside but this can be normal in a new environment but 95% of the time takes himself out to the toilet during the day. He is learning how to use the doggy door

Car Trips
Denver is not keen to get in the car , and is lifted in. He is learning it’s fun as it means we are off to the park. He is settled in the car just needs a few pats for reassurance

Exercise
Denver likes to keep busy so a decent backyard is sort as he will get bored in a small backyard. Denver needs a daily walk for at least 30 min to keep his little mind active. He would love some friends he can chase and have fun with. A small dog park with regular dogs would suit him well.
Food
Denver is fed twice a day and currently on Savior-life puppy food. He has not displayed any food aggression.
Takes treats gently
Sleep
Denver sleeps on his mat right outside his foster mum's room. He was taking time to settle, scratching at the door but now knows it doesn’t get him anywhere so settles easily each night. He is eager to come up for a kiss and cuddle when you are awake
Ideal home
An active family who will include Denver in their daily life
Kids savvy children who understands young dogs can be mouthy and jumpy
Definitely no cats or other pocket pets
A home with another young playful FEMALE who is eager to play Denver has no issues playing with larger dogs as he sees all as his equal lol but be warned he seriously gets annoying to them as he will play ALL day lol
At least a medium back yard with secure fencing and gates
