About Bear 🐻
Meet Bear! Our 4yr old female French Bulldog…..she is Black/Chocolate in colour....and looks very much like a little chocolate bullet 😂
This stunning girl is sure to capture your heart with her sweet and gentle nature. She adores people, both big and small, and loves to play with other dogs. Her playful nature means she's great with children, and whilst she does enjoy spending time both inside and outside, Bear would need to have access to indoors (especially during the warmer months) so that she doesn’t overheat.
Bear has had her soft palate shortened while in for desexing, but the risk of overheating is definitely still there. The reason for this, is due to the fact they have very narrow and constricted nasal passages which doesn’t allow them to pant (and cool themselves down) like other breeds can.
Bear can be a bit possessive when it comes to her food at mealtimes - so make sure everyone has their own bowl and area ❗️ Despite this, she loves nothing more than cuddles and pats from her favourite humans. Her great recall makes her perfect for outings and socialising.
Whilst in for desexing, little Miss Bear had spinal X-rays to check for Hemivertebrae issues….it turns out, she has 3. Given her age and the fact she’s had no issues to date, we are hopeful that this will not cause any issues down the track. This will of course depend on other factors, including lifestyle. Short controlled walks (rather than off leash sprints) and minimising her going up and down stairs, jumping on and off furniture will help reduce the risk of any spinal issues.
Bear is located in Peats Ridge and would love to find a forever home with a family who will love her as much as she loves them. She would be suitable for a home either as an only dog, or with another small to medium size dog ❤️

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
