Rufus (On Trial)

rufus is a 6 month old tenterfield terrier. He's a cheeky, smoochy boy lots of puppy playfulness and joy. He loves to play with children & adores toys. Rufie is smart, too and will benefit from puppy training school or even agility training. He's housetrained and can use a doggy door. He responds to his name. He really loves a walk or run. After playtime or a walk he curls up next to you for a solid sleep. He loves to lean right into your chest to snuggle under your chin. He's wonderful with children. He and my 7 year old nephew love to chase each other around in circles. Rufus will fetch a stick and return it (most of the time). Rufie entertains himself by tossing his toys around, making them squeak, and chewing on rawhide bones. I keep a basketful of dog toys on the floor and he digs through them to choose one to shake and toss. Later he'll go back to choose another, and another. Rufie has puppy-soft fur which is very low maintenance and low shedding. He just needs the occasional bath. He'll feel the cold in winter and will need a sweater. Rufus enjoys spending some time out in the garden but he's mainly an indoor dog who will need to sleep inside and be with his family when they're home. He doesn't fret when left by himself but it'd be cruel to leave him home alone for long hours every day because he loves to be with people and other dogs. Rufie would love another playful little pooch for company. But he'd be equally happy as an only dog so he can get all the cuddles. He's wonderful with children but they should be 7 years or older so they will understand to be gentle with such a small dog. Rufie is such an easy-going, delightful little guy.
