About Matcha
Well hi and hello how are you going? My name is Matcha and I've been told I am a fun loving sweetheart who is sweetest, most affectionate, fun lovin, 11 months and 2 week old Cocker Spaniel x my foster mum has ever met!
My foster mum says I’m an adorable, cuddle bug, and as handsome as they come, but a bit more Zoolander than Hemsworth. I have an excellent sense of humour and you will need one too if we’re going to be a perfect match.
I’m an active teen and will chase a ball or toy (and bring it back to you) for as long as I can convince you to throw it. I love a game of tug and have learned to give when asked, which makes the game so much more fun!
I love other dogs and am a friendly fellow that mostly follows the rules, but as I’m young and full of beans I can get a bit over excited at times. A tolerant doggy friend in my new home would be wonderful, I dream of having an older sibling who can show me the ropes and become my best buddy.
I could be an only dog in the right circumstances too, but you will need to make sure you meet my daily requirements for training, company, exercise and enrichment to keep me happy. Maybe we could take up a dog sport to keep us both fit and healthy!
I love going for walks but need you to continue my training to help me stay relaxed. I can get over stimulated when there’s lots going on which makes me a bit bouncy. I have been responding well to reward based training and am very clever and want to learn.
Because I can be bouncy I am probably better suited to older kids. I might knock little ones over in my excitement to love them! I live with a couple of teens here and they are the best ball throwers going!
I can sometimes be a bit nervous when meeting new people. It really depends on the people and the situation though, and 90 percent of the time I have no reservations at all. If you let me warm up in my own time I come around pretty quickly the other 10 per cent too.
I have previously lived in an inner city apartment which didn’t really suit me, so I’m seeking a home with a yard at least big enough to throw a ball in, and where I’m allowed inside to be loved as part of the family.
I’m toilet trained and use a doggy door to take myself out, sleep happily overnight in my crate, and have not barked once since being in foster care. In fact I get a bit worried when my foster brothers bark and I can’t figure out what the fuss is all about!
I am not tested on cats but if they want to be my friend I would probably happily be theirs as well - just no claws pls.
If your heart is open, your toy box is full, and you’re ready to commit, hit the apply button, and let’s make things official!

Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.
Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed
We can also be found at https://www.facebook.com/pawprintscanine/
Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
