About Joey

If there’s a job worth doing, then it should be done together, at least that’s Joey’s motto. With a quiet manner and calm demeanour, you’ll barely notice this little velcro hound around, so a home where he would be welcome to nap in the corner of your office while you work the day away would be his dream. He might check in occasionally to ensure you meet your KPI’s in snack sharing and ear rubs, but otherwise he’s a fairly easy going snootervisor.
Currently living the life of a spoiled only child, Joey would be happy to be your one and only. He’s not really fussed about other dogs, and for the most part politely ignores their existence. He is calm with smalls, but his feelings are a little hurt when they yap at him and he thinks Chihuahuas are to be completely avoided!
Joey is whip smart and makes an excellent student, his food manners have really progressed during his time in foster care, and he knows to wait patiently on his bed while the humans are eating. He loves to munch on a carrot.
While Joey has settled well into life as a well loved pet, he is still discovering the joys of a sniffari. He is now confident on his walks and enjoying the sights and smells of the City.
Joey’s truly the happiest when he can be cuddled up on the couch by your side watching TV (a movie connoisseur, his foster carer would like you to know that he loves John Wick and Jurassic Park, but is not a fan of Shrek).

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
