About Zippy
Meet Zippy, a small 3.7kg furry friend who is looking for her forever home. Zippy currently lives with a small male dog, Alfie, whom she initially ignored. However, she later became jealous when Alfie tried to approach her carer and snapped at him. This has now settled, and she is fine with Alfie, although she's not particularly friendly towards him, but enjoys his company when walking.
Zippy is generally wary of new people and will avoid them. She's not good with cats and can be aggressive towards new people, especially men. She resource guards her trusted person, especially from men, but this improves over time. Due to her unpredictable nature, we recommend a female-only home. Zippy has not been tested with children, and her previous home didn't have any children. Because of her unpredictable nature, she can't be trusted around children, either in the home or in other situations.
Zippy is an anxious dog who needs a slow introduction to new situations and must be allowed to settle at her own pace. She has fear aggression when anxious, so it's essential to provide her with a secure environment and a female-only home.
Zippy is fine on her own for a few hours if she has inside access. She travels well in a car and needs to be reminded to toilet outside, much like a puppy. Zippy tends to check out fencing for any gaps, so a very secure fence is necessary.
Although Zippy can take or leave Alfie, she enjoys his company when walking. She may snap if another dog gets too close, but we haven't forced her to approach other dogs. Zippy is not particularly friendly towards other dogs, but she does have the potential to be okay with them.
If you're willing to provide Zippy with a secure and loving home and help her overcome her anxiety, please consider adopting her.
