Calling all Kelpie lovers …….
If you are seeking a loving, happy, affectionate and typi\cial higher energy little size Kelpie girl…. Well we would like you to meet the stunning Kali.

At just under knee height and 17 kilos Kali is a typical playful and busy little Kelpie who will love to be in a home that loves to play games especially the good old Tug o war with a rope or catch me if you can lol

She loves hugs and kisses and is always up for a pat and game.

She definitely lives up to the Kelpie breed traits and funny antics including catching ( or attempting to lol ) Flies, chasing birds and stalking out insects in the yard oh and possum searching in the trees at night …
Kali is really eager to please and although has not had much training she will be a great project girl for someone who wants to put time in as lets face it, shes one of the most intelligent breeds to train so literally a lump of clay ready to mold.

Kali will require an active home obviously as being a young girl and a Kelpie if bored and under stimulated and exercised will find ways of self entertaining which are not always on the positive side…hmmm shoe and sock fetishes are on top of her list lol

Kali is a toy Junkie lol and if it's not a durable toy it is seriously not going to hold up very long lol .

Kali is yet to fathom the difference between her toys and some household items eg shoes socks gardening tools etc lol so if you really treasure that item we strongly encourage you not to leave her alone with it ….

Sleep

Kali is happy to curl up on you floor or on your bed, she changes her mind each days lo

Car Travel

What a wonderful car companion she is .
Kali , clipped into the back of the car happily relaxes while you travel from A to B without any fuss whatsoever
Food

Lead Walking
Well no surprises here that our little working breed girl will definitely require a good leg stretch everyday to keep her well exercised and healthy

Now let’s be really serious.. A quick walk to the corner and back just ain’t gonna cut it for her so if you are not an active person, family etc you are definitely not suited to our awesome little girl .

Kali ks getting more and more confident heading out for a walk as days go on

Initially she was slightly fearful of the suburban hustle and bustle but her confidence has soared over time and she happily struts along as cars Wizz by without so much as a bat of her eye

She will tend to stop and watch a diesel or V8 out of curiosity but she can be encouraged to continue walking as they pass

She walks beautifully on either a collar or corrective collar and responds well when asked to step it down a pace .

She walks at your pace so either a brisk walk or a leisure stroll once her standard first 10 minutes of excitement settles down

When seeing other dogs while on walks she does get excited and pull towards them but can be easily walked through this using “ leave it” and continuing on your way.

Interaction with other animals
So Kali is a work in progress in this area as she was attacked by a large female a few months ago which has put her on the back foot in some scenarios
Kali has very typical play for a kelpie that involves the standard stalk, chase and round up game which many dogs really do not like

We have found that if she is calmly put in an environment with submissive males or younger pups it can go quite well but this will ned much further work to be confront to allow off lead play since her unfortunate experience

She seems to be picky with which dogs she has a distaste for so it's a bit of a hit and miss

She does enjoy playing with young puppies and as you will see by a few of her pics she's really plays well

As far as cats go she's really better off without them as they are all just a chase game

Inside the home

Kali loves to come in and out too investigate what you are up too while you are home,

She makes herself at home without any trouble

Ideal Home

The beautiful little Kelpie needs a med to larger size yard for plenty of play and fun

The yard must be secure with shade and shelter

A home that has an active lifestyle and is equipped to bring a young working dog into their family that includes stimulation exercise and heaps of fun.

No other pets please

Children in the home are great but we seek dog experience, savvy and confident kids who love to play with dogs please . Seeking kids over the age of 5

If you work long hours and dont have much spare time please dont apply as Kali is a working breed and cant be left all day without things to do or she will get bored
