About Comet
Comet has a sad, unknown background, wandering the streets for at least three weeks looking for his owners, during all the heavy rains before christmas. Always looking wet and lonely, he began to stay in one area, where he finally chose to trust a kind lady who had been leaving food and water out for him. With no microchip and seemingly with no one looking for him, he ended in the pound, where wodonga dog rescue took him into foster care; at least he wasn’t on his own anymore. Obviously well raised, this little guy is not a barker, is gentle, affectionate and loves to play with kids and adults alike, has great fun playing “chase me” tag! he is also very obedient, when he’s asked to stop and come he will, just happy to follow you around all day. Loves his walks on leash and will wag his tail at the door when you ask him to go for a walk and waits for you excitedly. Very gentle walker, no pulling, stops and starts with you. Great with new people now, he was very timid at first but not shy at all after a couple of weeks in care. Has the most amazing nature and is so intelligent, sits at your feet or on the chair beside you and loves “bedtime” with the kids, usually pinching pillow space, when he gets the chance and waiting in the room for them. Semi house trained – only because in strange new surroundings and kept inside most of the time to help his “confidence retraining”, but starting to remember to ask at the door to go out when he needs to, so he won’t take long to get it right. Very gentle with food, taking food or treats politely when offered, not pushy for food in the house around mealtimes just waits patiently hoping something may be accidentally dropped!
comet will need to have secure fencing and secure surrounds and be kept safe until he has really bonded well with you and knows where he “belongs”, as do all newly re-homed dogs. Comet dearly wants and deserves a new “forever family” as he has had his share of sadness already and just wants to be someone’s best friend
