About Iggles
Iggles – (M/4 yrs) – Foster Carer needed with the view to Adopt
Current Location: Melbourne/ VIC
Iggles is a handsome young man who is looking for a special kind of person to open up their heart and home.
His current owner has had him since he was 6 months old and he came to them from a rural area...he was initially timid and overwhelmed with the busy lifestyle in 'the burbs'.....as he matured this evolved into barking and being reactive towards other dogs...(simply put being frightened of life and he's letting everyone know the only way he knows how).
Therefore, he needs an extremely experienced boxer owner who can show him that life can actually be pretty good! He needs routine, rules, structure and boundaries....
Having said all of the above, Iggles is everything you could ask for in a Boxer! He is still a goofball and like a typical boxer, he thinks that all of his 30kg Boxer body is a perfect fit for lap....If you let him, this is exactly where he would be!
He is also partial to a good sunbake and this is part of his morning ritual!
Iggles is frightened of brooms and hoses so he feels safest when he can’t see them.
He is house trained and is used to a doggy door.
Iggles needs a strong leader on walks to provide training with him being reactive.
He is known to assert his dominance over other dogs. For this reason, he needs to be in a home where he is the ONLY dog so he can get further training. That’s why a Boxer-experienced owner is a definite must!
Older children (high school age) are the way to go for Iggles ...definitely no young children sorry!
He would also benefit from a home in a quieter area, semi-rural or rural...where life isn't busy and not so overwhelming for him!
