About Bullwinkle
MEET BULLWINKLE! 1 of 3
Bullwinkle is approximately 4 years old, he has sadly been surrendered alongside his 2 other ginger brothers and can be adopted alone or with one of his siblings.
Bullwinkle is special needs, so what does that mean for him? -
Bullwinkle has cardiomyopathy and a low grade heart murmur (a heart condition!) He had a consult with the heart specialist in Dec 2022 where he had an echocardiogram performed and then a re-visit Feb 2023 and at this point in time Bullwinkle does NOT require any medications and the vet is happy for his condition to be monitored with routine vet visits every 6 - 12 months and a repeat echocardiogram in 12 months time with the cardiologist vet (we use Dr Richard Woolley). Bullwinkle is still a healthy happy cat and will still live a long life as long as his condition is monitored and controlled when necessary.
What a special, funny and sensitive cat Bullwinkle is. He is infamous for his type of cuddle which is a bear hug on your chest with his paws each side of your shoulder! It's really amazing that he will do this the same as a human child, a big smoochy young man. He would lap up cuddles and pats all day if you had the time.
He loves being told he is very loved, he gives you head buts and he does lick you if you let him. A very affectionate boy. Bullwinkle is very playful at times with toys, carries little fluffy ones in his mouth, will not let you grab them back and just keeps playing. He also enjoys running after little balls. He enjoys playtime alot.
He can also be independent and just hangs out by himself. Happy outdoors in the cat enclosure lounging in the sunshine, he is very adaptable. He likes to sit up high on the scratch post. If he finds a soft blankie to sleep on that is what he will sleep on, he is very interactive and engaging with humans.
Bullwinkle is INDOOR ONLY for life (given he has a medical condition its important to keep him safe and nearby) however he would LOVE to have access to an outdoor enclosure!

Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
