About Charlie
*In foster care in Mosman, Sydney*
This ultra affectional lady is an Egyptian Mau, one of the rarest kitty’s around!!
The Egyptian Mau is the only natural domesticated breed of spotted cat, other spotted cats being the result of selective breeding of the humans' choosing.
The Egyptian Mau is a loving and playful cat. They are extremely clever and love to learn tricks and are one of the few breeds of cat that enjoys walking on a lead. They adore fuss and attention and this makes them ideal family and show cats. They are active and need some stimulus such as toys or companions to play with and another cat is often a good idea if they are going to be left on their own for long. The Egyptian Mau is quite long lived and ages in the late teens are not unusual.
Charlie is a chatty and ultra-affectionate girl! She'll soon be purring her little heart out for you, craving snuggles with her new human and asking for endless head and chin rubs :)
Important things to know about Charlie...
Her favourite place ever: the bed. She's all about those bed snuggles, but also loves to retreat underneath to recharge.
Her special trick: opening the sliding-door wardrobe with her paw :)
Her routine: Charlie will wake up next to you for a looooong morning cuddle! Most of her day is spent napping before an evening of human cuddles and a convo. At night she becomes a house explorer before curling up for a good night's sleep. She's quite the all rounder: cuddler, napper, chatter, and explorer!
Charlie will need access to a secure garden or courtyard - she grew up with access to a garden and is stuck in her ways! Don't worry, she won't go far!
Like all Maggie's pets, Charlie is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will be quiet and calm, as fast movements and unpredictable noise can scare me. I'll need a patient person, couple or family who will understand that I may take a couple of weeks to adjust to my new environment. I will also need a courtyard or garden!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Pretty low, overall! I'm quite a low-key lady.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Children of at least high school age (11+) will be the best match for me.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I'm not sure, as I haven't met any other pets since coming into foster care.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
