About Baxter
Beautiful Baxter boy is seeking a home where he will be welcome to partake in all adventures, preferably with lots of best friends and playmates.
When asked about what his favourite thing is in his current foster home, four year old Baxter found himself torn between walk time and the end of the school day; combining both may just be his idea of heaven! Perhaps he could accompany you for pick up and drop off?
Baxter is always very excited to welcome home his human foster siblings, with lots of tail wags and smooches, but his size and enthusiasm would be best suited to those over the age of six.
Currently living with a female greyhound, Baxter is confident with medium to large dogs of all breeds, small dogs are still a curiosity for him (why are they so little?!)
A cool cucumber when it comes to loud or busy environments, Baxter takes most things in stride. He is fine with busy roads/traffic noise, no worries with the vacuum cleaner (but would prefer you be mindful of his nap time, please!), and doesn’t mind the general hustle and bustle of a busy home. He is also the self-appointed neighbourhood watch, and enjoys a sticky beak out the windows from time to time, just to check there aren’t any birds daring to land on his lawn.
While he will happily demonstrate his couch potato side when the humans are busy with other tasks, Baxter also loves the great outdoors, and lives for his walkies! Slightly more energetic than your average grey, he would thrive in a home that could take him out on trails to explore and get all those good sniffs.
Still not sure if Baxter is the one for you? This clever cookie has mastered slippery wooden floors, wide staircases, and a dog door! He is truly a ready-made family dog, all he’s missing now is you.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
